Collectors Item

Way back in the early Eighties my Mom bought me a Brook Shields Barbie for Christmas. And after she realized that I had snooped in her closet and found it before Christmas she wouldn't give it to me anymore. The thing that killed me was she kept it in her closet for years and years in a spot where I could see it, I guess to remind me not to snoop.Well she finally gave it to me for Christmas...25 years later.
Since it is in mint condition and it has never been opened, we all commented on "I wonder how much that it worth"? Well according to Ebay...only about $40 bucks. So I said that I would hang on to it anyway and maybe in another 25 years it would be worth more.
Later that after noon I found it out of the box...and the leg broken at the hip. NICE!!
Kylie wanted to play with it. And with all the time sitting in the box...the cheap plastic broke at the hip when she tried to move it.

Oh well. At least it's a good story and lesson learned. It just wasn't meant to be.
